Taught by Dan Lowe, this class combines combative sports such as karate, kickboxing, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and other MMA fighting techniques to make you a better street fighter and keep you safer.
Dan is a life-long martial artist. He trained in Okinawan Karate (Shuri-ryu) for 5 years. His background includes boxing, kickboxing, Judo, Jeet Kune Do Concepts, Filipino Martial Arts (Kali) and Brazilian Jui-Jitsu. Dan is a Certified full instructor in Jeet Kune Do Concepts and Filipino Martial Arts. Former MMA fighter along with 20-years teaching Martial Arts and self-defense and 16-years in the criminal justice field. Certified USE of Force Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, TASER, and firearms instructor. For Tears of Steel, Dan teaches Jeet Kune Do Concepts including kickboxing with a self-defense emphasis. Dan accepts private one-on-one students too.
Jeet Kune Do
Unlike more traditional martial arts, Jeet Kune Do is not fixed or patterned and is a philosophy with guiding ideas created by Bruce Lee. Named for the Wing Chun concept of interception or attacking when one’s opponent is about to attack, Jeet Kune Do’s practitioners believe in minimal effort with maximum effect and extreme speed.
Offered Tuesdays at 6:30pm (one-hour) and Fridays at 5:30pm (90-minutes). One weekly class $50 per month, two weekly classes $70 per month.
